VisionCircle is a narrative about accessing the inner world for personal and planetary healing. It draws on the shamanic discipline of journeying and a fundamental realization that the mundane world in which we walk reflects a larger, more complete reality. Through journeying–a meditation and a projection of consciousness–we can find ourselves in a very real place of power animals, guides, teachers, helpers, and healers.
Almost as soon as I stepped away from a successful career to follow the path of teacher, shaman, and healer, a man named the Traveler came to me during my journeywork. He Traveler carried an invitation to join a group known as the Council which would meet in a crystal cave, led by one who called himself Arrow.
VisionCircle is neither a memoir nor a list of practices but an immediate and vivid account of a shaman’s path and the Council, a circle of thirteen adepts actively dreaming a new world to aid our planet in her rebirth. Woven into the telling are the teachings of the Traveler who showed how engaging the inner worlds can affect outer reality powerfully and magically; how to confront and shed fear; how to relate to the Dark from a place of compassion; and how to use Light in order to manifest the highest and best for ourselves and the Earth.

Journeyman
On the Shaman’s Path with the Traveler
Jeff Farwell
In VisionCircle, a shaman calling himself the Traveler approached me in the inner world with an invitation to join a circle of earth dreamers called the Council. On several occasions he assured me he was indeed human, living on Earth. A year into our relationship, he offered to serve as a mentor. When I asked if he was a spiritual guide, he said he was just a teacher but that he might be able to provide some shamanic lessons of a practical nature–if I were interested.
Journeyman is the sum of the Traveler’s three-year instruction. Part of it overlaps in time with the events in VisionCircle and includes many of the characters whose full stories are told there. It is less a sequel than a tangent, nor does it share the same narrative structure. Instead it is something of a lesson book, though the Traveler’s schoolroom encompassed Earth, Moon, and the three levels of shamanic reality.
